SPF 30 + SPF 50 is not SPF 80

Layer if needed. Don’t mix.

Sunscreen protection does not work like simple addition.
Sunscreen cocktailing may sound smart, but SPF is not mixology.

Do not mix two sunscreens in your palm. Sunscreens are tested as complete formulas; mixing can make protection unpredictable.

Apply one generous, even layer of broad-spectrum SPF 30+ to the face and neck first. Let it settle.

Then use tinted sunscreen, makeup SPF, stick, compact, or powder only as touch-up support — not your main protection.

Reapply every 2 hours outdoors, sooner if you sweat, swim, or wipe your face.

Doctor’s Note

Healing, irritated, pigmentation-prone, or recently treated skin should avoid SPF experiments. Use the sunscreen recommended for your skin.

In sunscreen, clever layering is no substitute for correct use.
