The Dark Mark May Not Be the Main Problem Ask What Keeps Creating New Ones.

When dark marks keep appearing, fading what you can see may solve only part of the problem.

Acne, picking, friction, irritation, and inflammation can all leave pigment behind. If the skin is still being irritated, treating pigmentation too aggressively can sometimes create more inflammation—and more marks.

Ask the Better Question

Instead of only asking:
“How do I fade this?”

“Why does my skin keep making new marks?”
Sometimes addressing what is creating new marks matters as much as fading the ones already there.

Doctor’s Note : Melasma, post-inflammatory pigmentation, sun-related pigmentation, and other pigmentary conditions are not the same. Persistent, recurrent, or changing pigmentation deserves proper assessment.

Don’t only ask how to fade the mark. Ask what keeps making new ones.
